Cover: Quantitative autoradiographic image of local cerebral glucose utilization (lCMRglu) at the coronal level, 5.8 mm with respect to bregma. The image depicts the average of 5 normal rats studied under replicate experimental conditions (awake, with unilateral vibrissal stimulation). At this relatively posterior coronal level, increased metabolic activity is apparent bilaterally in auditory cortex and medial geniculate nucleus of thalamus. From M. J. Passineau, W. Zhao, R.
