In-vivo myocardial ischemia/reperfusion. The video shows immediate restoration of blood flow in the coronary artery territory after 45 minutes of ischemia. The ischemic myocardium has a pale-grey appearance distal to the occlusion site, while proximal myocardium is colored normally (see color of left atrium for comparison). The placeholder (PE-10 tubing) is removed using fine forceps. After restoration of perfusion the myocardial color reverts to deep red. The loose suture material remains in situ.
